Engineering workflows for building decisions.
Carbonfolio is building-performance and estate-planning software developed by Built Metric Ltd.
Connect fragmented building evidence to estate decisions.
Building performance assessments often start with fragmented EPC records, spreadsheets and separate modelling tools. That makes it difficult to move from a broad estate screen into progressively more detailed simulation while keeping assumptions and evidence connected.
Carbonfolio is being developed as specialist engineering software to link those stages: identify buildings for further investigation, configure the building model, compare interventions and bring the resulting pathway back into an estate plan. The aim is to make the hand-off between early analysis and detailed building work easier to follow and review.
The product draws on real building performance engineering experience, including building simulation, energy performance and automation. Carbonfolio continues to develop; analysis scope and access differ by source, and the Office V1 ROM workflow remains under validation.
Built from building performance work.
Carbonfolio is led by Thomas McGovern, whose engineering background includes building simulation, building energy performance and automation. In 2024, Thomas McGovern and Juraj Rusnak were named Global Winners of IES’s VE User of the Year Award for a Mace project connecting IESVE EPC calculations with CRREM through Python automation.
The recognition relates to that project and its authors. It does not represent an endorsement of Carbonfolio or Built Metric by IES or Mace. Read IES’s award feature.
